Ground pepper

Does anyone use it anymore? Perhaps I have been spoilt by the wide availability of freshly ground black pepper, but I cannot abide the dusty stuff that comes pre-ground.
Before the smoking ban – in the UK and in the state of Ohio – my main concern used to be that someone would have put their ashes in it. Now I wonder if one could even tell the difference if they had.
