Italian food at Vivaldi

Despite the title, I was actually in Dubai on the last day of my trip. I had been recommended this Italian restaurant in the Sheraton Dubai Creek hotel, and as I had an hour to spare, decided to give it a try for lunch. The tables on the veranda looked good, but at over 100F outside, I stayed inside in the cool. The table looked out over the water with downtown Dubai in the background, and was perfect.

As for food I chose pasta with fresh tiger prawns in a light tomato sauce. The prawns were large and very succulent, and the pasta not overcooked. The dish came with ciabatta bread and several dips, which made it quite a filling lunch.

I had to wash it down with pepsi rather than anything stronger, as there was work to do in the afternoon. Nothing would have been better however than to stay and admire the view over a cool glass of white wine or two.
