Remarkable Rhône
Posted On October 5, 2008

A friend was kind enough to share with me a rather special bottle of wine, which he’d sourced at a local independent retailer. It was called Terres de Galets, from 2007. It’s a Côtes du Rhône, which is often my favourite region for reds, but this was a white, and was very smooth and well-balanced. I coudn’t detect much on the nose, as it was very cold, having been in the freezer on ‘super-freeze’ mode for fifteen minutes. The body, however, had melons and liquorice, and the finish marzipan. I thought it a really excellent wine!
