Versatile Vodka

Vodka is quite a useful alcoholic addition to many cocktails. It’s also very useful if you happen to have a favourite non-alcoholic drink and want to give it a kick. Many punches are made that way, and many of my favourite cocktails are some fruit juice or a mix, combined with vodka. There are many varieties on offer at the supermarket, but I think I’d be hard-pressed to tell the difference between most of them, especially once it’s been diluted by a fruit drink, often quite sweet. Personally, for my home use with cocktail-making, I find Sainsbury’s own-brand perfectly adequate. It’s 37.5%, comes in conveniently small (35cl) bottles, and is only £3.99.
