Les Jardins du Capitole
Posted On January 2, 2009

It might be mid-winter elsewhere, but the sun was streaming down across the bay in Nice, and it looked a good, warm day to eat outside. The Jardins du Capitole looked appealing (despite its lack of gardens), and so did its menu. Fortunately I’d remembered my sunglasses, so I sat with my back to the cafe and looked out on the Mediterranean.

I had a fruits-de-mer pizza. It came with the thinnest crust I’ve ever seen on a pizza, and packed with good seafood and cheese. The mussels were the best bit, but it was all good. So was the pichet of the house rose wine which went with it.
