Resto – Wines – Notes

Surprisingly that was the name of a rather smart looking bar in Nice, quite near the Cathedral Square in the Old Town. There was music coming from it and it looked quite fashionable, so I popped in for a glass of their vin de pays rouge before going on to dine elsewhere. It was good – smooth and with good depth of flavour. It surprises me how good the house wines are in Nice; I think that’s because they’re mostly from Provence. I was impressed by their wine list; some very good wines are offered by the glass.
The music was being made by two talented musicians. One played saxaphone and the other sang French and English songs to an electric guitar which he played to sound like an acoustic guitar. The food passing by looked good, so I made a note to eat there soon.
