Tagine?

My best guess was by playing the word-association game and coming up with ‘tangerine’ but I was well off the mark. This was a chicken dish, flavoured with various spices, with the texture of a thick casserole. Included were kidney beans, dried apricots (which had become soft again by soaking up flavoured juices) and carrots, along with whatever it was that thickened the sauce. Alongside was roast squash and steamed sweetcorn and green beans. I added some fresh spinach for variety of texture. I enjoyed it, but had been given far too much, leaving a good half-plateful. Dessert, which I decided looked too stodgy (and I was full anyway) was a banana pie with a chocolate sauce over the top. Conversation at the dinner table turned to quantum mechanics and relativity, and that must have been at least the third time I’ve found myself discussing philosophically things at such a high level!
