Lunch at the Slug

slug

It’s the Slug and Lettuce on Artillery Row, and it’s among the best pub food in the Westminster and Victoria areas of London.  I very often have the butternut squash and goat’s cheese lasagne, which is deliciously creamy.  Or I choose the goat’s cheese and roasted vegetable tostada.  It looks like a pizza and is about the same size, but the pastry underneath is very thin and there is no melted cheese binding the toppings together, just clumps of goat’s cheese with peppers and leaves.  Yes, both my favourites feature goat’s cheese, which I eat a lot of.  Their wines are good, too.  I usually end up with a South Africak Fishhoek poinotage as red, and a Kleine Zalze chenin blanc as a white, both from South Africa.
