King scallops on the slate

After riding segways along the Nice promenade, three of us decided to head off down the coast to Villefranche for lunch. We went by train rather than by segway, and it took us 12 minutes. We arrived at the Corsair restaurant on the harbour just as hunger pangs were taking hold. I’ve been there before. It has excellent food, brilliant views and staff who dress a little in the pirate style. We sat outside on the edge of the harbour and watched the fish shoaling at any food tossed to them.
I ordered the king scallops. They came in a row with a cream sauce, baked cherry tomatoes and citrus slices, and with a side dish of roasted squashes. I took the carbohydrates of the meal by dipping their delicious French bread in that stunning sauce.
