More food at Madsen

While I enjoyed my food in Madsen’s cool, wood-and-white interior, my friends chose other dishes. One had the skagen toast, like me, while the other chose Salad of baked pumpkin and salted seeds with little gem lettuce and honey vinaigrette. He added hot smoked Scottish salmon for a small surcharge.

One had the pan-fried breaded filet of Irish plaice with steamed broccoli tossed in oyster remoulade.

The other went for the venison and wild mushroom pie with buttered Brussels sprouts on the side. We shared a couple of portions of honey-roasted root vegetables.

We were all so full after that that we had no room for dessert, not even the Rødgrød med fløde – the famous Danish red berry pudding served cold with cream. Maybe next time.
