Breakfast buffet

Breakfast in Havana’s Hotel Nacional has to be seen to be believed.  In a room the size of an aircraft hangar are laid out the buffet tables with almost every conceivable breakfast dish.  One table is full of fruits, one has cheeses, one breads. Other tables have eggs Catalan, pork, spicy penne, and the ubiquitous black beans – very flavoursome.

There are chefs at others to cook while you wait, with omelets and pancakes.  It goes without saying, of course, that you can keep going back for more as often as you want to.  I took an instant liking to one of the breads, a kind of cake-bread with dates in it, and completely yummy.
