Piccolino

London’s Heddon Street is a recent discovery. It is off Regent Street and is a quiet cul-de-sac closed to traffic with quite a few restaurants, most with outdoor tables. On a fine London evening a couple of us tried Piccolino’s and found it quite good. I ordered the duck with a side dish of courgette fritters, and found it nicely cooked.

For the wine we chose a False Bay South African sauvignon blanc. It was not as good as the Marlborough ones from New Zealand, but pleasant enough and fairly inexpensive.
