The French have a word for it

I suspect the French word might be ragout, which sounds so much classier than stew.  This was a sausage stew, made up by slicing more of that big black olive sausage into thick chunks.  First, though, I added a mug of boiling water to half a ‘jus de roti’ cube.  I put it on the stove, and when it was boiling I added a potato, peeled and cubed.

Then came chopped onion, tomatoes, mushroom, and a grilled vegetable mix from my freezer containing courgettes, aubergines, red and yellow peppers and more onions, and then the sausage chunks.  When it was simmering merrily away, I added garlic granules, black pepper, Provence herb mix, and a few drops of Tabasco sauce.  I timed it so the potatoes had longest, but the whole lot took about 15 minutes.  It was really satisfying.
