What a banquet

I was invited to dinner at their home by two friends, and what a feast it was.  First off was parma ham with lovely tangy tomatoes they’d grown themselves.

The main course was chicken, oven–cooked with vegetables, which was utterly delicious.

And finally a magnificent spread of cheeses to round off the meal.  Add the superb wines and the excellent port afterwards, and of course the setting.  It was in a room whose bar had been jointly financed by British Intelligence and the KGB!  Perfect.
