New China revisited
Posted On September 24, 2010

Three of us returned to the New China and again went for the fish dishes. This time we shared spring rolls to start with, then ordered king prawns with potato flour noodles. They were unexpectedly liquid, but completely delicious.

Then we tried salt and pepper oysters and crispy scallops. The oysters were quite unlike any I’ve tried before, seeming more deep fried than salt and pepper. But they were good, as were he scallops, an once again a very large helping of each. We tried the house white this time, Le Petit Mais, vin de pays d’Oc at 12.5 percent. Right for the food, if unexciting. The meal, however, was exciting and left us all very satisfied.
