Mathematics at d’Arry’s

My three companions were all mathematicians, though we mostly talked about philosophy and teaching rather than mathematics. As we began a bottle of the Stump Jump blend of riesling/viognier, I ordered the scallops with bacon and pea puree. And what an excellent pea purée it was, too.
Then I had fish for the main course. It was haddock with a lemon tempura jacket and came with minted peas and chunky chips, which were very good.
Two of the others ordered sticky toffee pudding, while the third had dark chocolate brownie with pistachio ice-cream and dark chocolate sauce. I didn’t eat it, but I did photograph it. We had the other Stump Jump white, their chardonnay, with the main courses.
