Kumala viognier/chenin

Wine doesn’t have to be expensive to be pleasantly drinkable,  Kumala is a wine I tend to buy when it is discounted in supermarkets.  The viognier/chenin blanc blend was under £6 at Waitrose,  It comes from the surrounds of the Table Mountain in South Africa’s Western Cape, and is made by Bruce Jack.  It is described as having “an attractive creamy texture. Soft honey notes underpin overtly juicy lemon and green apple fruit flavours.”  I would say that is spot on.  It is medium bodied with definite floral and peach tones as well.  Quite fragrant, too.
