HK Fusion
Where the Ugly Duckling used to be in Cambridge is now HK Fusion, and it does seem to be a very different menu. The wine list is very much smaller – down to four wines. We chose the Marcel Hubert Dry White, which was quite drinkable and cheap enough.
We began with the shared hors d’oeuvres, a basket of 6 assorted dumplings which we liked a lot. Then my companion had duck in soup with noodles and greens. It tasted OK, apparently, though the duck was reportedly somewhat fatty and tough.
I ordered salt and pepper prawns which I thought quite good. I wish I’d known they came with rice, because then I wouldn’t have ordered rice for one in addition – we left it. This place bears going back to, in order to sample some of the other interesting dishes on the menu.
