Pave of beef at l’Oustaou

l'ousteaou-beef

Three of us went for quite a late meal at l’Oustaou on Boulevard Gambetta.  Apparently the name means ‘home’ in the local tongue.  The food was very good, as always.  I had the pave of beef, which came superbly cooked ‘a point,’ rare on the inside, but cooked outside.  It was extraordinarily tasty, and I had it with Dijon mustard instead of the various sauces offered with it.  The mixed vegetables of the day were overcooked, and I rather wished I’d ordered the fries instead. However, my friends ate them.
