New Prezzo

There’s a new branch of Prezzo in Cambridge.  It’s in the Quayside, the Pizza opposite Magdalene, on the site of the old Café Uno.  Two of us thought we’d give it a try on a rainy night.  I ordered the salmon salad, consisting of oak-roasted fillet of salmon with avocado, cucumber, focaccia croutons, semi-dried and cherry tomatoes with mixed leaves tossed in their house Italian dressing, and some pieces of really tasty bread.  It was quite pleasant, especially with the knowledge that it was costing only £1 thanks to a discount voucher we’d downloaded.

The wine, chosen for my friend’s dish rather than mine, was also pleasant.  It was a Chianti, soft and mellow.  I always think salmon has a taste strong enough to stand up to a red wine, and this is certainly true when the salmon is oak-roasted.
