A good bite

I started with the oysters as a light bite to start with, before moving onto a special of the day. I forget the name of the fish now – there is a good chance it was a John Dory. The teeth looked ferociously sharp and the flesh of white and tasty. It came with a mound of rice, cooked almost like a rice pudding, slightly sweet and sticky. I enjoyed the meal very much, especially as torrential rain came down while we were eating (under an awning in the street). The rain added a great deal of atmosphere and it was amusing to watch everyone running for cover – the rain stopped in time for us to walk home.
