La Famiglia ****

First recommended to me by a friend who grew up in Lewes, La Famiglia is a small friendly restaurant with a Northern Italian menu. It is my favourite place in Lewes to eat. Reliable pastas and stone-baked pizzas, with a selection of daily specials. Polite staff who are eager to please. It’s popularity with locals isn’t surprising.

I’m a big fan of the Gallina pasta (Penne + roasted chicken + white wine cream + parsley + parmesan), which has a particularly comforting sauce and healthy dose of white wine.
