Taste of London
I went to Taste of London this year. It can be quite pricey as you have to pay for entry, but in return you get to sample small dishes from across many of London’s best restaurants.
I most enjoyed meeting Theo Randall, who was distributing chunks of Parmesan from his wheel, and gave me some guidance around refining my home made pasta. Unfortunately I forgot to get a photo of the food or the lovely German and New Zealand wines we had at various stalls.
As well as Theo Randall’s pasta, we sampled…
Ametsa: Jamon Iberico sobre Almohada de Pan
Tredwell’s: Chicken liver mousse, bacon jam, toast
The Palomar: Polenta Jerusalem style with asparagus, mushroom ragout, Parmesan and truffle oil
Chai Wu: Chili salt and pepper squid with adjud sauce
Roux at Parliament Square: Balvennie and maple glazed pork belly, brioche bun, hispi salad
Zaika: Murgh Handi Lazeez – Chicken Tikka, in smoked tomato sauce, brown garlic & dried fenugreek leaves, cumin pula
MEATliquor: Dead Hippie Slider – Mustard-Fried Beef Patty, Dead Hippie Sauce, Lettuce, Cheese, Pickles, Minced White Onions
And, Roka: Gindara to kani no gyoza: black cod, crab and crayfish dumplings
