Lappish Open Fire Teepee Barbeque

At our lodge in Rovaniemi, Finland there was a Teepee with a traditional open fire with barbeque. With the fire roaring and wooden seats with reindeer hide covers surrounding, it was a very social way of eating & chatting whilst staying warm.

We had fresh Salmon, Reindeer & some lovely thin Pork Steaks with some perfect Baked Potatoes cooked in foil inside the fire. What a treat, everything was cooked well but the highlight was really the overall experience, getting out of the snow and staying warm chatting around the fire. It was my first time trying Reindeer meat & it was just perfect, reminded me of Lamb but with a Beef texture.
