Some Arran cheese came yesterday. It always tastes good, especially if you eat it with Arran traditional oven-baked oatcakes. I wasn’t entirely sure about this one, though. From the Island Cheese Company, it is an Arran Mustard Cheddar, described as
A classic combination of traditional Scottish medium mature cheddar cheese coupled with the piquancy of locally produced Arran wholegrain Mustard.
Hmm. It’s nice enough, but it has quite a strong tang. It’s one of those tastes you quite like, but without wanting too much of it. You might have a little of this alongside other cheeses on a plate, but it’s a bit strong by itself.
